I’m not big on unique mega spells for epic staffs only. I was thinking connecting some creature skins to these epic staffs might be an idea. I’d argue that probability is not the same thing as random. I think of each % chance like a command a general orders to his army. I’ll order a giant to come to the battle but it’s often to drunk to show up. Dwarfs and Goblins are more obedient but even they get lost every once and a while.

The giant village has a range of 8 days travel. They don’t stray to far from home. If you hover over the village you can get some info on the range, creatures, and upgrades of that village. The white connecting line also turns red when it’s out of the villages range.

You should try a mega blob now. Dispelling a path through the blob was a good tactic when it cost you your spell for the turn. Now you can blob the map and walk freely through the blob. I believe that’s one of Viper’s realms. If you want to try working around the bug, possibly defeating 3 wizards in the area will add encounter options for the towers. I brute forced the lock so I’m not sure what triggers Viper used.
