We do not know yet who is the champion from last season, but the time has come for us to host a new tournament, and crown a new 4Most Master.
16 players, 4 player FFA, everybody plays everyone, randomized pairings, points for making it to the end, you all know the drill.
Standard Settings: Survivors draw, generic mode, random map, pairings handled by the tournament director (me). A wizard who survives to the end of the game will get at least as many points as the number of wizards vanquished during the game. So in a three way draw, each wizard will get at least one point, at least two points for a tie and at least three points for a win. Scores are cumulative over the five games played, and the four wizards with the highest points totals after the end of the qualifying round will make it to the final. Tiebreakers will be head to head as first option and total points of wizards that died before you as a second option.
Up to negotiation: Time per game (default setup is asynch, with 20 days per player), hosting duties (I will provide a randomized pairing with choice of host that you should use for ordering unless otherwise agreed upon).
Up for vote:
Scoring method: As described in standard settings, or an additional point to any wizard in a tie who has killed more wizards than all other remaining surviving wizards. If a wizard kills all the other wizards by themselves, they will earn four points. Vote on this when you join if you have a strong feeling either way.
Number of turns: 25 or 30. People can vote on this, but once a majority decides, it will be fixed for the remainder of the tournament.
Good luck, and may the best wizard win!
Editor's Note: I will now use the term generic to describe the variant of the current game where wizards begin with random staff types. It is more meaningful in light of recent discussion for the classic title to be maintained for the version of the game we all love and enjoy.
