The Wizard of Many Colours 2

For discussing tournaments and arranging matches

  • This is a tournament which makes use of the Level 1 Chaos Equipped Mode game. i.e. You can select your staff and body gear, but not select any talismans.

It's a 6 way multiplayer tournament which takes place over a number of rounds (run concurrently), and then within each round we have a different theme based on the staffs types available in the game. So:

EDIT - We've also assigned maps to each staff:

Round 1 Air - Peace on Chaos
Round 2 Armoury - Triple Double
Round 3 Attack - Plainful Gathering
    Round 4 Chaos - Random
Round 5 Creatures - The Space Between
Round 6 Growths - Crazy Forest
Round 7 Law - Mana Piscene
    Round 8 Marksmen - Techstatic
Round 9 Mounts - Ready for Take Off
Round 10 Neutral - A Dead Piece of chaos
Round 11 Speed - Over The Hollow Hill
Round 12 Undead - Here and There

Each Wizard takes the relevant staff type into battle
    - for round 1 we're all wielding Air staffs
    - for round 3 we're all wielding Attack sticks
    - for round 6 we're all covered in Gooey Blob

They also select any Bodygear of choice, but don't select any talismans.

    And so on...

In order to enter you will need:
    a) A staff of each type
    b) To quote snapshot games WARNING - superb gear management skills required!

EDIT - Added Scoring to the OP

    Scoring:

We'll run it like the conference system in the NFL, we'll all play twelve regular season games, one with each staff type, and the we'll have a final.

Points scoring for the regular season is going to be.

    1st place - 10 points
    2nd place - 6 points
    3rd place - 4 points
    4th place - 3 points
    5th place - 2 points
    6th place - 1 point

Whoever wins the match should post the result. And in the event of a draw remaining players will receive points based on how many are left. So two players remaining = 6 points each.

At the end of the season, the six players with the highest scores across both conferences will play one more game. This will be the final, the player with the most regular season points gets to choose the staff type used, map to play on, and starting order.

    So who fancies a try?

We obviously need 6 players to make this viable, any multiple of 6 would then also work (to be fair it'd probably work okay with multiples of 5 too). I'm seeing this as a bit of fun rather than a serious competition at this point to which I'm not too concerned about making fixtures work, for each round I think I'm just going to draw names out of my lucky wizard sock or other appropriate accoutrements.

For the participants list I've already asked the 1st tournament's players if they want to run this again, and I'll also give preference to the guys who were on the reserve list from last time.

    The list list:
    SpiteAndMalice
    Worto03
    DisgruntledElf
    Mazy
    Varanas
    Stitchy
    Viking34
    Dumfsirg
    Incarnadine
    Clef
    Blobka
    ahMostyn

    Reserves list:

  • I'm in :) and ready to go :D

How long do I have to get all the staffs ready? Is it easy in your experience to buy some packs or should I just craft them in the forge? Do the Megas matter (i.e. are they being used in this format)?

    So far I have:
    [x] Air
    [x] Armoury
    [x] Attack
    [x] Chaos
    [x] Creatures
    [x] Growths
    [x] Law
    [x] Marksmen
    [x] Mounts
    [x] Neutral
    [x] Speed
    [x] Undead

and 5551 Gold, 101/10 crystals, so I'm confident I can meet the entry criteria given a day or so :)

PS: It will be async, right?

    Edit: updated staffs

I'd say a couple of weeks, I'll leave sign ups open until we either get 12/10 playing or its clear that we won't reach that many.

For looking at what you've got I'd say try pull one or two more randomly from the shop and then forge/go realm diving for the rest.

Gary is a wealth of knowledge if you want to know where specific staffs are.

That's what I did for the last round! :)

Also post here - quite a few players know where staffs are. :)

  • I've put you in Varanas. I think ideally for this one I'd like to get 10-12 players.
