I propose a mace around the world

For discussing tournaments and arranging matches

  • Mace / off

Inspired by this video https://youtu.be/AhziykOL4r4 (thanks Mazy) the Benevolent Order of Mages challenges you to a game of thrust parry and riposte. A to-and-fro. A pally rally.

    Return to sender

A equipped chaos match up which restricts players to staff to staff wizardry and mace to face combat.

Mace to see you, to see you mace

The idea is to promote petty retaliation and for as long as possible. To this end we would apply some custom rules
    • Wizard or paladin combat only
    • Keep the faith: Ain't no disbelieving

You mace my back, I mace yours

Basically we're striving for longevity so anything to help defence is welcome. If we focus on Law, we increase the likelyhood of casting those Shields and totems and the more chance we have paladins in our decks. Spend non-combat turns casting law spells to get the law on our side. Burn the chaos for mana (you might want to hold on to that manticore if you don't have unicorn).

    Encouraged:
    • Law staff
    • High defence frock
    • Bind paladin
    • Paladin mega spell
    • Bind defensive spells, shield, guardian totem, magic wood
    • Bind unicorn, Pegasus
    • Retaliation enthused talisman

A mace for a mace makes the whole world mace

The victors will be the last wizards standing. Calling yourselves Mace Windu is optional.

Mark Morrison's Return of the Mace

Small edit to remove the suggestion of limiting the attack, because you actually want to win, don't you?

    What a paladin you're making

Look for Mace Ventura in the custom asyncs!

  • if I mace, I would like some clarification on the following:

-can we summon other creatures without making them attack? For non violent use such as blocking movement or providing cover or sacrifice
-can we use attack spells such as paralyse, vengeance or subversion?
-is the use of chaos spells a taboo or should we just try to avoid shifting to chaos too much?

Thanks; sorry if I missed answers in the post; I'm reading from a tiny phone screen! Such is the future

  • Come on you are expecting me to think of everything :D

Any creatures can be summoned but they can't attack. I hadn't thought about using them to get in the way but I guess that's ok. I certainly support mounts. If this doesn't work then we might set some taboos for the next game

I would say vengeance etc cannot be used against Wizards or Paladins but other uses ok

Chaos is only discouraged because we want people to be able to have a good chance of casting sheild , sword and totem. Its not a show stopper
