Manic Miner online

Any discussion not specifically related to Chaos Reborn

  • No, not a new retro MMO starring Miner Willy* (although wouldn't that be awesome?), but rather an almost perfect** online version of Manic Miner with a high score table! That means friendly competition.

I beat this game back in the day (when I was 12 years old), finding that I've lost quite a bit of that ability! Still, slowly remembering the tricks is a lot of fun.

Score to beat: 7777 (register online so it updates the high score table). Once I get past Eugene's Lair, I'll be on a roll. Until I get to Kong Beast, that is.

*If you have no idea who Miner Willy is or what the hell I'm talking about, you may be in the wrong target demographic for this post. :)

**Mechnically it feels identical, there are a couple of omissions that you might spot, but it's close enough.

Is the link one of the omissions, or did a Manic Mining Robot gobble it up?

Do you know by any chance why there was two versions of this? Bug Byte and then Software Projects.

  • Hmmm - I would guess some kind of faux multi-channel music?
