  • I've been getting into short story collections lately, there's loads available online for free (something that's always going to appeal to a Yorkshireman). Anyway I thought I might make a thread for sharing.

George R R Martin's Sci-Fi career spanned decades before he wrote Game of Thrones, this is one of my favourite tales of his https://forwearemany.files.wordpress.co ... dkings.pdf

Btw - Does anyone remember what TV show this was once on?

  • O yeah Spite, that was on the T.v show The outer Limits, the ones in the 90's. It was a two a two part opening to the show.

  • Do you know, it's weird isn't it, that although it's 2017 and you can get an answer to just about any question in the world by looking on online... You still have moments where you totally forget about that fact, and you spend months or years wondering about the answer instead. A question that you could have answered in 30 seconds if you'd only used the right search term floats around you subconscious and occasionally keeps bobing back up to the surface continually buffudling you.

Still the pleasure of finding that someone else has come up with an answer far surpasses the empty joy of simply 'googling it.'

To which cheers Tiger, much appreciated :-D

  • I have about 25 collections of sci-fi short stories, each with about 25 stories in. Mostly "Years Best".

I love the variety and form of the short story. Stories I would never normally tolerate or consider to read.
